Information stall in Gorton

On Thursday, three of us went down to Tesco Extra in Gorton to raise awareness of mental health issues and also of our group and Rethink Mental Ilness. One of our group members, Jonathan, who organised the stall, said: "A surprising amount of individuals who talked to me about their own experiences of mental illness, either on a personal or family level." Thanks to Jonathan for organising and to Tesco Gorton for their support. Here are a few photos from the day... Jonathan all set up  The stall ready to go  Me on toddler control!

We have a new meeting venue from October

To make our group more accessible, we have a new city centre meeting venue. Manchester Digital Laboratory, or ' MadLab ' for short, is a grassroots innovation organisation, based in Manchester UK. They focus on science, technology, arts and culture, and have very kindly offered us a meeting room for free. Huge thanks to MadLab! Our first meeting at MadLab will be on Wednesday 11th October at the usual time of 6 - 7:30pm. MadLab is located on Edge Street in the Northern Quarter, just a short walk from Piccadilly Station, Piccadilly Gardens and Shudehill Metrolink. See MadLab's 'how to find us' page for more: https://madlab.org.uk/find-us/ There will be a voluntary donation pot in the room for contributions towards MadLab's expenses. There's no requirement or expectation to put money in - attendance remains free - but any donations towards MadLab's expenses will be appreciated. We'll post this information again when we announce our sp

We're meeting this Wednesday 13th September at Manchester Carers Centre. All are welcome as ever. Manchester Carers Centre is located at Bridge5Mill, 22a Beswick Street, Manchester, M4 7HR. Parking is available on street locally from 6pm or you can park round the corner on Piercy Street in front of Tony's Chippy any time. The nearest Metrolink stop is Holt Town (Ashton-under-Lyne line) which is a 5 minute walk. Bridge5Mill can be a bit hard to spot from the street - it's an old mill building next to the canal but there is a banner with 'Bridge5Mill' strung up on the railings. The entrance is through iron gates and down some steps or a ramp.
