The Road to Recovery - Leeds event, Sat 8th June

Rethink Mental Illness Yorkshire & North East Regional Committee are holding a conference especially for people with a mental illness, their carers and mental health professionals. And it’s absolutely free of charge for members of Rethink Mental Illness.

This one-day event brings you expert speakers and workshops, a chance to meet fellow members over a sit-down lunch, plus opportunities to share your experience and learn from others about theirs.

Here are some highlights of the day:
  • Hear from top psychologist Dr Alison Brabban, on how and why psychological therapies can be crucial to recovery and coping with mental illness.
  • Learn about welfare reform and policy changes. Get practical guidance on WCA and DLA changes and getting through assessment successfully
  • Find new coping resources, heat what others have done on the road to recovery.

Our meeting this Weds 11th March

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 11th March starting at 6pm for tea, coffee and biccies, and ending at 8pm. Lauren Bate, our Rethink link, will be coming along to our group this Wednesday. We want you to tell us what you get out of the group and what would you like to see more of. If you are travelling by public transport, Manchester Carers Centre is directly across the road from the New Islington Metrolink stop (Droylsden Line). It’s one tram stop from Piccadilly train station. Some of us meet at Piccadilly station by the taxi rank at 5.30 and head up together. Text Lindsey on 07757 082 976 so we know to wait for you.
