We're now meeting on Thursdays...

Our regular monthly meetings have now moved from the second Wednesday to the second THURSDAY of the month. Our next meeting will be on Thursday 11th October, Thursday 8th November and Thursday 13th December. Still at the usual time of 6 - 7:30pm at MadLab (next to the CIS tower). All welcome.

The main aim of the project is to improve current practices surrounding the identification of mental health problems for people in contact with the police, through increasing access to timely and appropriate referral to mental health professionals . The project focuses on the gap in police access to mental health services on the evenings and weekends when there is a high turnover of people through custody. The project is a collaboration between the Offender Health Research Network, University of Manchester and LancashireCare NHS Foundation Trust. Our meeting this Weds 11th March

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 11th March starting at 6pm for tea, coffee and biccies, and ending at 8pm. Lauren Bate, our Rethink link, will be coming along to our group this Wednesday. We want you to tell us what you get out of the group and what would you like to see more of. If you are travelling by public transport, Manchester Carers Centre is directly across the road from the New Islington Metrolink stop (Droylsden Line). It’s one tram stop from Piccadilly train station. Some of us meet at Piccadilly station by the taxi rank at 5.30 and head up together. Text Lindsey on 07757 082 976 so we know to wait for you.
