Meeting next THURSDAY 13th September

Due to venues issues, we will be meeting this coming THURSDAY 13th September at the usual time of 6 - 7:30pm at MadLab - PLEASE ALSO NOTE NEW LOCATION. Whether you've been coming to the group for years or have never been, we're here to give you a warm welcome and a friendly ear. Free tea, coffee and biscuits for all.

Meetings will take place on the second Thursday of the month for the foreseeable future.

Our AGM
We have had to postpone our AGM from May until September due to venue issues and the football world cup.  It will take place from 6:15 - 6:30pm on Thursday 13th.

The main aim of the project is to improve current practices surrounding the identification of mental health problems for people in contact with the police, through increasing access to timely and appropriate referral to mental health professionals . The project focuses on the gap in police access to mental health services on the evenings and weekends when there is a high turnover of people through custody. This Friday at 11am our Group Chair, Lindsey Cree, is being interviewed on BBC Radio M/c, 95.1 FM by Heather Stott. Lindsey will be talking about carers of those with a mental illness. Do tune in if you can. Good luck Lindsey we know you'll be great!

Our meeting this Weds 11th March

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 11th March starting at 6pm for tea, coffee and biccies, and ending at 8pm. Lauren Bate, our Rethink link, will be coming along to our group this Wednesday. We want you to tell us what you get out of the group and what would you like to see more of. If you are travelling by public transport, Manchester Carers Centre is directly across the road from the New Islington Metrolink stop (Droylsden Line). It’s one tram stop from Piccadilly train station. Some of us meet at Piccadilly station by the taxi rank at 5.30 and head up together. Text Lindsey on 07757 082 976 so we know to wait for you.
