We've received the following information from Manchester University. Our Chair, Lindsey, is planning to attend. Get in touch with the

Come & help us to design a new study!
Information & Consultation Event; Free Lunch 
Thursday 21st February 10.30am–2pm at University of Manchester
- Professor Rachel Calam & a team at the University of Manchester are planning a new study to help families where there is a parent with schizophrenia or psychosis.
- We want to learn more about what it is like for you and how we can work together to help support families.
- Come and hear how research could help support families and their children. Have your say and make sure your ideas and suggestions are heard.
We can refund local travel costs for 30 people in receipt of welfare benefits.

The main aim of the project is to improve current practices surrounding the identification of mental health problems for people in contact with the police, through increasing access to timely and appropriate referral to mental health professionals . Radio star

This Friday at 11am our Group Chair, Lindsey Cree, is being interviewed on BBC Radio M/c, 95.1 FM by Heather Stott. Lindsey will be talking about carers of those with a mental illness. Do tune in if you can. Good luck Lindsey we know you'll be great!

Our meeting this Weds 11th March

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 11th March starting at 6pm for tea, coffee and biccies, and ending at 8pm. Lauren Bate, our Rethink link, will be coming along to our group this Wednesday. We want you to tell us what you get out of the group and what would you like to see more of. If you are travelling by public transport, Manchester Carers Centre is directly across the road from the New Islington Metrolink stop (Droylsden Line).
